Self starter and able to work unsupervised. Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills. Basic carpentry/mechanical skills. Excellent customer service. Understanding of low voltage cable installation and local codes. Reliable transportation with a clean driving record. Tools for cable install and PC maintenance. Able to lift, handle and carry heavy (up to 80lbs) hardware and tools. Must be able to work at heights of 3-28 ft. Must be able to bend, stand, sit, crawl, climb, and lift throughout each day. Must be able to work in tight spaces, such as attics, crawl spaces, under counters/desks. Able to work a flexible schedule. Cable/Field technician will be responsible for low voltage cable installation for data/voice/audio/video networks. Hardware roll outs (such as point of sales, network hardware, wireless access points, PCs/Servers and peripherals, etc), Technician will be exposed to many different systems in many different environments. Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills a must as no two projects are ever the same. This position is for an individual who has a solid understanding of structured cable installation. This would include, but is not limited to: Small single drop locations to larger commercial installations of between 20 and 200 cables. All terminations, dressing cable into rack/cabinet, patch panels, etc. In some cases will need to balance getting your own work done while leading small teams on various cabling projects. Must be able to work with construction and project managers making sure jobs are completed correctly and on schedule. May be working with lower level techs assigning work within their abilities. Must have 3 or more years of cabling experience working with cat5/cat6 cable with a verifiable work history in the field. Must be able to pass background and drug screening.
