Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cable Technician to join our team. As a Cable Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing various types of communication and data transmission cables. This is a hands-on role that requires technical expertise and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.Responsibilities:
- Install, terminate, and test communication cables, including fiber optic and copper cables
- Perform fiber splicing and fusion splicing as needed
- Troubleshoot and repair cable faults and connectivity issues
- Conduct site surveys to determine cable routing and installation requirements
- Collaborate with other technicians and project managers to ensure successful completion of projects
- Provide excellent customer service and address client inquiries or concerns
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including cable records and test results
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Cable Technician or in a related field
- Strong knowledge of field service operations and cable installation techniques
- Proficient in fiber splicing, termination, and testing procedures
- Familiarity with low voltage systems, including telephone and data networks
- Ability to use hand tools and specialized equipment for cable installation
- Knowledge of Ethernet protocols and network installation practices
- Mechanical aptitude for working with cables, connectors, and equipment
