Johnson Service Group, a nationwide award-winning staffing company is looking for a CAT6 Cabling & CCTV Installation Field Technician with 2-5 years' experience. This is a Temp job in Salem, NH for a Data company.
Pay Rate:
$35.00 HR/ DOE We are looking for a reliable and experienced CAT 6 Cabling & CCTV Installation Field Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with CAT6 and fiber optic cabling, CCTV camera installations, conduit work, and commercial low-voltage systems. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in commercial and industrial environments. The technician will be responsible for installing, terminating, testing, troubleshooting, and supporting structured cabling systems, surveillance systems, and related low-voltage infrastructure. Candidates should be comfortable working independently or as part of a team while maintaining high-quality workmanship and safety standards. Job Responsibilities Structured Cabling Installation Run, pull, route, secure, terminate, and test CAT5e/CAT6 cabling systems Install and terminate fiber optic cabling for network and server infrastructure Perform cable certification testing and troubleshoot connectivity issues Install patch panels, data jacks, racks, server cabinets, and cable management systems Label and organize cabling according to industry and company standards Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, wiring diagrams, and project specifications CCTV & Security Camera Systems Install CCTV cameras, mounts, brackets, DVRs, NVRs, and surveillance equipment Pull and terminate low-voltage cabling for camera systems Assist with camera positioning, aiming, and system setup Test and troubleshoot CCTV systems, video feeds, and power connections Support installations for security and surveillance infrastructure in commercial facilities Conduit & Infrastructure Work Install EMT conduit, flex conduit, sleeves, raceways, and J-boxes Measure, bend, cut, and secure conduit according to job specifications and code requirements Install cable trays, supports, and overhead pathway systems Maintain clean, organized, and professional installations throughout projects Equipment Operation & Safety Safely use ladders, boom lifts, power tools, and testing equipment Carry and transport ladders, tools, and materials throughout job sites Work at heights and in active construction environments safely and efficiently Follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies at all times Maintain clean and organized work areas Requirements Experience running, terminating, and testing CAT6 cabling Experience with fiber optic cabling and server/network infrastructure preferred Experience installing CCTV camera systems and surveillance equipment preferred Knowledge of conduit installation, J-box installation, and cable pathway systems Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly Ability to climb ladders and safely carry a 6-foot ladder Comfortable working at heights and operating boom lifts Boom lift certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and complete projects efficiently Reliable transportation and dependable attendance required Required Tools Technicians must provide their own basic hand tools, including: Drill Screwdrivers Screw gun or impact driver Wire cutters and strippers Level Tape measure Basic low-voltage installation tools Preferred Qualifications Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus OSHA certification preferred Experience with server rooms, network racks, and communication closets Familiarity with access control systems, alarm systems, and additional low-voltage technologies is a plus Work Environment Commercial construction sites, office buildings, warehouses, retail locations, and industrial facilities Indoor and outdoor work conditions depending on project requirements Frequent standing, bending, climbing, lifting, and overhead work required Occasional overtime, weekends, or travel may be required based on project schedules JSG offers medical, dental, vision, life insurance options, short-term disability, 401(k), weekly pay, and more.
