This is not simply a general labor or cable-pulling position. Our technicians work on the infrastructure behind modern businesses, schools, municipalities, healthcare facilities, and other organizations throughout Northern New York. One day may involve building out an IDF and installing CAT6 cabling; another may involve mounting and commissioning surveillance cameras, installing wireless access points, or helping deploy an entirely new technology system. What You'll Be Doing Install, route, terminate, test, label, and document

CAT6/CAT6A

structured cabling Install and mount IP surveillance cameras and associated equipment Install wireless access points and other network-connected devices Build out and organize MDF and IDF telecommunications spaces Install racks, patch panels, cable management, and related infrastructure Properly dress, secure, identify, and manage cabling to professional installation standards Assist with installation of access control, security, communications, and A/V equipment Perform cable testing, troubleshooting, certification, and infrastructure assessments Read and interpret floor plans, drawings, and installation documentation Troubleshoot cabling, connectivity, and equipment-related issues Maintain accurate documentation of completed installations Work directly with other CREG technicians, project leads, and customers to successfully complete projects Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites What We're Looking For We value ability, reliability, workmanship, and attitude as much as what's written on a résumé.

Successful candidates should have:

Experience with structured cabling, low-voltage systems, telecommunications, electrical work, construction, security systems, or a related technical trade preferred Experience terminating RJ45 jacks and patch panels preferred; training can be provided Strong mechanical and technical aptitude Ability to safely use ladders, hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a project team Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship Ability to follow technical instructions, plans, and established installation standards Dependability, professionalism, and a strong work ethic Good communication and problem-solving skills Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Previous experience installing IP surveillance cameras, access control, wireless networks, fiber optics, A/V systems, fire/security systems, or other low-voltage technology is a significant plus.
