This is a hands-on installation position focused primarily on access control hardware, door hardware, low-voltage cabling, and physical security devices. This is not a programming or network administration role. The primary responsibilities involve installing the physical components of security systems, including running cable, installing and modifying door hardware, mounting devices, making low-voltage terminations, and assisting with system testing and commissioning. Responsibilities Install commercial access control and physical security systems. Install and replace electric strikes, magnetic locks, crash/panic bars, electrified door hardware, card readers, request-to-exit devices, and door contacts. Cut, modify, and prepare doors and frames for installation of electric strikes, locks, and related access control hardware. Install and troubleshoot physical door hardware associated with access control systems. Pull, route, dress, label, and terminate low-voltage security cabling. Run cable above ceilings, through walls, conduit, and other commercial building pathways. Install and mount card readers, control panels, power supplies, cameras, sensors, and other security devices. Make low-voltage connections and terminations at field devices and security panels. Read and follow floor plans, installation drawings, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer documentation. Use hand and power tools to drill, cut, mount, and install security equipment. Perform basic testing and troubleshooting of wiring, devices, locks, and other installed equipment. Verify proper operation of doors, locking hardware, readers, and related field devices. Work from ladders and lifts as required to install cable and equipment. Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites. Coordinate with project managers, lead technicians, electricians, and other trades working onsite. Qualifications 2-5 years of commercial security system installation experience preferred. Hands-on experience installing commercial access control systems and door hardware. Experience installing electric strikes, maglocks, crash/panic bars, card readers, door contacts, REX devices, and related equipment. Experience cutting and modifying doors and frames for access control hardware. Experience pulling and terminating common low-voltage security cable, including 18/2, 18/4, 22/2, 22/4, access control composite cable, and Cat5e/Cat6. Ability to use drills, saws, grinders, fish tape/rods, punch-down and termination tools, multimeters, and other common installation tools. Ability to read wiring diagrams, blueprints, and installation drawings. Basic understanding of low-voltage electrical circuits and access control wiring. Ability to troubleshoot cabling, power, locking hardware, and field devices. Comfortable working on ladders and lifts and performing physical installation work throughout the workday. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer job sites as required. Preferred Experience Experience with commercial access control equipment from manufacturers such as LenelS2, Software House/CCURE, Brivo, Avigilon Alta, Genetec, Verkada, Honeywell, Bosch, or similar platforms is beneficial. Candidates do not need to be programmers or system administrators; experience physically installing the hardware associated with these systems is the priority. Role Focus This position is primarily focused on the installation side of commercial physical security. The installer will be responsible for the cabling, devices, locks, door hardware, and other field components that make the system function. This position does not require access control programming, software configuration, or connecting/configuring customer network infrastructure.

$27.00 - $32.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
