Chief Datacom is a locally owned business that specializes in structured cabling, video surveillance, and access control systems. We strive to create an environment that allows for our technicians to continually grow and master their craft, while also maintaining a healthy home life.
  • Job Overview:
  • We are seeking a skilled Installation Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in installing and troubleshooting structured cabling, CCTV systems, and/or Access Control Systems. Experience with burglar alarm system, or computer networks would also be a huge plus!
  • Responsibilities:
  • Install data cables, video cameras, card readers, and associated devices
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, voltmeters, and other equipment for installations
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Conduct system testing and troubleshoot issues as needed
  • Collaborate with clients to ensure installations meet their requirements
  • Requirements:
  • minimum 4 years experience with structured cabling, video surveillance, or access control systems
  • state issued cctv technician license and/ or access control technician license and/or Burglar Alarm license
  • Proficiency in structured cabling and video surveillance installation and maintenance
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, voltmeters, and cable pulling techniques
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics
  • Knowledge of computer networking principles
  • Strong problem-solving skills for system design challenges The ability to maintain a positive attitude and the desire to learn are important attributes we are looking for in our next technician.
