Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Access Control & CCTV Technician to join our security technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing access control systems, CCTV surveillance equipment, and integrated security solutions across various client sites. Your expertise will ensure the safety and security of facilities through effective system design, precise hardware installation, and proactive service. Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain access control systems, including electronic locks, card readers, control panels and software. Set up and troubleshoot CCTV surveillance systems, including cameras, monitors, DVRs/NVRs, servers, and associated networking components. Conduct system diagnostics to identify hardware or connectivity issues related to security systems and implement effective solutions promptly. Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately install cabling and low voltage wiring for security systems. Perform routine inspections of security system devices to ensure optimal operation. Prepare and document security system equipment for pre-programming & jobsite delivery. Utilize hand tools and power tools safely during installation or repair tasks while adhering to electrical codes such as NEC standards. Maintain detailed service records, incident reports, system logs, and asset protection documentation for accountability and future reference. Demonstrated ability to efficiently adapt to shifting priorities, customer needs, and schedules while maintaining a professional demeanor. Be available to assist with the rotating weekly on-call service schedule. Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and job site regulations. Maintain high standards of professional workmanship, including clean cable Interpret and utilize technical documents such as blueprints, riser diagrams, and system Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to hardware, network connectivity, and system configuration. Experience Proven experience as a service technician specializing in security systems such as CCTV, access control, alarm systems, or surveillance technologies. Strong knowledge of computer networking principles relevant to security device connectivity and remote access software configuration. Mechanical knowledge related to cabling techniques, lock mechanisms, sensors installation, and low voltage electrical work. Familiarity with schematics, wiring diagrams, telecommunication standards (including NEC), and construction practices related to security system deployment. Hands-on experience with power tools and hand tools used in construction or maintenance environments. Background in electrical experience or locksmithing is advantageous for system integration tasks. Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately while troubleshooting complex security infrastructure issues.
