What You'll Do As a Fiber Installation Technician, you'll be responsible for delivering industry-leading installation and repair services while creating an exceptional customer experience.
Responsibilities include:
Install, activate, troubleshoot, and repair fiber optic, internet, television, telephone, and Wi-Fi services. Configure customer equipment and educate customers on its operation. Perform residential and commercial installations according to company quality standards. Diagnose service issues and complete repairs efficiently. Ensure every installation meets company and customer expectations. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized company vehicle and work area. Communicate professionally with customers, dispatch, supervisors, and fellow technicians. Accurately complete required documentation using company software and mobile applications. Follow all company safety policies and industry best practices. What We're Looking For Successful candidates are dependable, customer-focused professionals who take pride in their work.
Qualifications include:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Minimum of two years of driving experience. Must be at least 21 years of age. Ability to pass a background check and drug screening. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently while remaining a team player. Previous telecommunications, cable, internet, electrical, or construction experience is preferred but not required. High school diploma or GED is preferred but not required. Physical Requirements This is an active, hands-on position requiring: Ability to lift up to 100 pounds. Ability to safely carry and operate a 28-foot extension ladder. Working outdoors in all weather conditions. Frequent climbing, walking, kneeling, bending, crouching, and driving throughout the day. Why Join Porter Installations?
