Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Structured Cabling Technician1 employees report to Structured Cabling Technician3 for work assignments. Duties will include but are not limited to completing daily production as assigned, working in a team setting, running basic power tools, and producing a quality product.QUALIFICATIONS
A Structured Cabling Technician1 employee will be able to work the scheduled hours. They will be able to read a tape measure, follow written and verbal directions and be able to work outdoors when required in all types of weather.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Follow instruction from Structured Cabling Technician3 and Structured Cabling Technician Supervisor Install and Modify Structured Cabling, Access Control, and IP Camera Systems Install entrance facility grounding infrastructure. Install Cabling Pull and sort Cabling. Pre-terminating wires. Assemble and install 8-pin modular connectors and coaxial connectors. Install optical fiber ST, SC, and LC ceramic connectors. Have knowledge and be able to install, Access control systems and cable. Installation of access control devices, and knowledge of low voltage power supplies High safety considerations. Work irregular hours and overtime when required. Create a welcoming work environment. Bring a positive attitude each day. Other job duties as assigned.REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES
The Structured Cabling Technician1 employee is expected to work with minimal supervision and a customer centered focus. Able to read blueprints and electrical prints. Ability to differentiate between the types of cabling. O-24 months of experience required. Ability to work standard and extended hours. Show up on time for scheduled shifts. Adhere to OSHA safety standards.TRAVEL, HOURS OF WORK, & SUPERVISION
This position normally requires the individual to be physically present at one or more TBB manufacturing location Monday through Friday. This position will report to Structured Cabling Technician3. Travel is less then 1%. All production is done at the plant.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS
- Current apprentice license preferred, but not required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- 1-2 years electrical experience preferred, but not required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
(including but not limited to):- Regularly able to work a 10-hour shift standing/walking.
- Regularly able to climb ladders repetitively.
- Regularly able to bend, crouch, twist, pull.
- Regularly able to lift/carry 80 lbs.
- Regularly able to work at a desk for short periods of time.
- Regularly able to work in all types of weather when needed.
