Structured Cabling Technician Hoffer Technologies, LLC El Paso, TX Job Details Full-time $17 - $25 an hour 3 days ago Qualifications Customer communication Full Job Description Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Structured Cabling Technician to join our dynamic telecommunications team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex structured cabling systems that support data, voice, video, and security networks. Your expertise will ensure seamless communication infrastructure for a variety of clients, helping organizations operate efficiently and reliably. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects involving fiber optic systems, Ethernet networks, and telecommunication equipment, all while delivering exceptional customer service. Duties Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot structured cabling systems including Cat5, Cat6, fiber optic cables, and low-voltage electrical wiring according to schematics and industry standards Perform fiber splicing and fiber optic systems installation to ensure high-performance data transmission Diagnose and repair issues related to network wiring, equipment malfunction, or connectivity problems using appropriate troubleshooting techniques Use hand tools and power tools safely to complete cable runs, equipment mounting, and system upgrades while adhering to safety protocols Skills Extensive knowledge of computer networking concepts including LAN (Local Area Network), Ethernet cabling, network installation, and telecommunications systems Proficiency in schematics reading for accurate cable routing and system setup Experience with fiber splicing techniques and fiber optic systems installation for high-speed data transfer Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters, multimeters, cable testers, and telecommunications testing equipment Strong understanding of low-voltage electrical wiring including AC/DC electrical systems for proper power management Skilled in cable termination procedures for Cat5e/Cat6 cables ensuring reliable connections Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients Hands-on experience with power tools, hand tools, and safety equipment required for installation tasks Join us if you're passionate about building robust communication networks!
