Job Description
Network Cabling Services (NCS) is seeking skilled Structured Cabling Technicians with experience in commercial environments such as hospitals, airports, colleges, and schools. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and supporting structured cabling systems while ensuring high-quality standards, safety compliance, and timely project completion. Key Responsibilities Install, terminate, label, and test structured cabling systems (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, fiber optic) Perform cable routing, dressing, and rack/stack installations Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings Work in active commercial environments (healthcare, aviation, education, etc.) with minimal disruption Install pathways including conduit, cable tray, J-hooks, and ladder racks Conduct cable testing and certification using industry-standard tools (Fluke, OTDR, etc.) Maintain accurate documentation, labeling, and as-built drawings Follow all safety guidelines, PPE requirements, and site-specific protocols Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and other trades on-site Troubleshoot and resolve cabling and connectivity issues Maintain clean and organized job sites Qualifications 2-5+ years of experience in structured cabling within commercial environments Experience working in hospitals, airports, schools, or similar large-scale facilities preferred Strong knowledge of copper and fiber cabling standards Ability to read and understand construction documents and schematics Experience with cable testing and certification tools Familiarity with industry standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI preferred) OSHA certification preferred or willingness to obtain Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
