In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low-voltage electrical systems and telecommunications infrastructure across various client sites. Your expertise will ensure seamless operation of communication systems, network cabling, fiber optic systems, and related equipment. Duties Install, configure, and troubleshoot low-voltage systems including CCTV, VoIP telephony, fiber optic cabling, Ethernet networks, and structured cabling infrastructure. Perform fiber splicing and fiber optic system installation to ensure high-quality data transmission. Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately execute installations and repairs. Conduct network installation tasks such as cable termination (Cat5, Cat6), wiring, and testing using telecommunications testing equipment. Diagnose electrical issues in AC/DC systems utilizing diagnostic tools like ohmmeters and multimeters; perform equipment repairs as needed. Set up and maintain telecommunication systems including Cisco routers, Juniper devices, Avaya systems, and radio frequency (RF) testing for optimal performance. Use hand tools and power tools safely to install communication infrastructure while adhering to safety standards. Provide exceptional customer service by communicating technical information clearly and resolving client issues efficiently. Experience Proven experience working as a Low Voltage Technician or in a similar field service role within telecommunications or networking environments. Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including LAN/WAN configurations, Ethernet cabling, network wiring, and Cisco or Juniper equipment. Hands-on experience with fiber splicing, fiber optic system installation, and troubleshooting fiber optic networks. Familiarity with telephony systems such as VoIP solutions (including Avaya), cable termination techniques (Cat5/Cat6), and structured cabling standards. Ability to operate diagnostic tools like ohmmeters, multimeters, and telecommunications testing equipment effectively. Experience working with low-voltage electrical wiring in commercial or industrial settings involving AC/DC electrical systems. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues quickly using technical proficiency in equipment repair and network testing. Strong customer service orientation with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to clients at all levels.
