Cable Installer / Puller - Fiber & Coax Construction Down South Communications Santa Fe, TX Job Details Contract $700 - $1,200 a week 10 hours ago Benefits On-the-job training Opportunities for advancement Qualifications Outdoor work experience Driver's License Vehicle maintenance Bucket truck Materials handling Full Job Description We are looking for a dependable Cable Installer / Puller to join our telecommunications construction team. This position assists with the installation of fiber optic and coaxial cable on aerial and underground construction projects. This is a hands-on position working directly with our line crews. The ideal candidate is comfortable working outdoors, handling cable and construction equipment, and wants to build a career in the telecommunications and fiber industry . What You'll Do Assist with pulling and installing fiber and coax cable Assist line crews with aerial cable placement and construction Help pull cable through underground conduit and pathways Handle and stage cable reels, strand, lasher equipment, and construction materials Assist with cable preparation and placement Help operate and set up cable trailers, bucket trucks, ladders, and other construction equipment Assist with setting up and maintaining safe work zones Work alongside linemen and experienced cable technicians Load, unload, and organize tools, materials, and equipment Maintain company trucks and equipment Follow all company and job-site safety procedures Requirements Interest in fiber, coax, cable, or telecommunications construction Previous cable, fiber, telecom, utility, or construction experience is a plus Comfortable working outdoors in heat, cold, and changing weather conditions Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical work throughout the day Comfortable working around utility poles, bucket trucks, and construction equipment Valid driver's license required Reliable transportation to job sites Willingness to learn and follow instructions Ability to travel to different project locations as needed Preferred (but not required) Experience pulling or installing fiber or coax cable Experience with aerial or underground cable construction Experience working around utility poles or bucket trucks Experience with cable reels, lashing equipment, or cable trailers Previous telecommunications or utility experience What We Offer Full-time steady work Competitive pay based on experience On-the-job training in fiber and cable construction Opportunity to advance into a Cable Technician, Splicer, or Line Technician position Work with an experienced telecommunications construction crew Opportunity to build a career in the fiber and telecommunications industry If you enjoy hands-on outdoor work and want to learn fiber and cable construction , this is an opportunity to get started in the telecommunications trade.
