Job Description

Per Mar Security Services is seeking a Low Voltage Technician to install, service, and troubleshoot low voltage security systems for residential, commercial, and industrial clients across the Midwest. In this field-based role, you will install and test cabling, panels, cameras, and alarm devices; interpret blueprints and work orders; and ensure all work meets safety and code standards. You'll interact directly with customers, explain system operation, and document all work performed. Responsibilities Install, terminate, and test low voltage cabling for security and alarm systems Configure and mount security panels, cameras, keypads, and related devices Perform troubleshooting and repair of low voltage and security system issues Read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and work orders Ensure all installs meet company, safety, and code requirements Document work performed, materials used, and test results Collaborate with project managers and security teams to complete jobs on time Provide basic customer training on system use and functions Maintain tools, test equipment, and company vehicle in good condition Follow all safety, security, and confidentiality procedures on client sites Required Skills Low voltage cabling installation and termination Alarm system installation and programming CCTV and IP camera setup and configuration Access control hardware and reader wiring Use of cable testers and multimeters Blueprints and wiring diagram reading Basic network concepts (IP addressing, Po E) Hand and power tools for electrical/low voltage work Technical troubleshooting and diagnostics Customer service and client communication
