A well-established truck and tanker repair shop in Anchorage, AK is hiring a Master Diesel Technician to diagnose and overhaul diesel trucks and heavy equipment. Duties & Responsibilities Diagnose and repair diesel trucks, heavy equipment, and complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults. Use OEM diagnostic software, wiring diagrams, and schematics to troubleshoot engines, electronic controls, and emissions systems. Repair and overhaul engines, transmissions, differentials, fuel and cooling systems, and aftertreatment components. Perform preventive maintenance and inspections verify repairs through road tests and equipment operational checks. Maintain accurate service records and communicate repair findings, recommendations, and labor estimates to supervisors or customers. Mentor less-experienced technicians and maintain a safe, organized shop following OSHA, DOT, and manufacturer procedures.

Requirements Required:

7+ years of professional diesel or heavy equipment repair experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced knowledge of diesel engines, drivetrains, and heavy-duty truck and equipment systems. Strong electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills. Experience diagnosing and repairing modern diesel emissions systems, including DPF, DEF/SCR, and EGR. Proficiency with OEM diagnostic software, scan tools, technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic schematics. Ability to independently diagnose complex problems, complete major component repairs, and mentor other technicians. Valid driver's license and strong communication, documentation, and repair-prioritization skills. Ability to safely handle heavy components and perform physical repairs indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Preferred:

ASE Master Medium/Heavy Truck Technician certification or relevant diesel OEM certifications. Fleet maintenance or gasoline/diesel tanker experience. CDL, welding and fabrication experience, or advanced hydraulic and pneumatic expertise. Previous experience mentoring or supervising technicians. #PJ1

Compensation:
