Excellent benefits package available We are seeking an experienced and dependable Diesel Mechanic to join a growing team in Bessemer. This position is ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, comfortable working on a variety of equipment, and capable of handling both diesel-powered vehicles and small engines . Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain diesel engines and equipment Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and routine service Work on small engines and motors , including various pieces of company equipment Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, fuel, and hydraulic issues Complete oil changes, brake repairs, filter replacements, and other general maintenance Maintain accurate service and repair records Safely operate and drive company trucks as needed Respond to equipment issues and help minimize downtime Maintain a clean and safe work area Perform additional mechanical and maintenance duties as needed Qualifications Previous diesel mechanic or heavy equipment maintenance experience required Experience repairing and maintaining small engines/motors Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Must be comfortable driving company trucks Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment Ability to lift, bend, kneel, and work around machinery throughout the shift Dependable attendance and strong work ethic CDL is a plus, but not required unless otherwise specified Compensation & Benefits Starting pay: $25.00/hour 1st Shift Opportunity for increased pay based on experience Good benefits package Stable, long-term opportunity Full-time position This is a great opportunity for an experienced mechanic looking for steady first-shift work, competitive starting pay, and a company where a broad mechanical skill set is valued.
