Job Description
Overview We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team, responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of heavy-duty equipment and vehicles. This role offers an opportunity to work with advanced machinery, including farm equipment, industrial tools, and commercial trucks. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience with diesel engines, and the ability to diagnose complex issues efficiently. A background in dealership service or heavy equipment repair is highly desirable. This position requires a commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and excellent customer service skills. Duties Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brakes Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire services, alignments, and shock & strut replacements Fabricate and modify parts using power tools, welding equipment, and hand tools as needed Repair and service heavy machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and farm machinery Read and interpret schematics for troubleshooting electrical systems and complex mechanical components Conduct welding and soldering tasks for equipment repair or fabrication projects Perform vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and operational efficiency Assist in assembly or disassembly of equipment during repairs or upgrades Maintain detailed records of repairs performed and parts used Experience Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment, automotive diagnostics, or industrial machinery repair Dealership experience is a strong plus Familiarity with Caterpillar equipment, excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and HVAC systems preferred Knowledge of vehicle maintenance including brake repair, wheel alignment, hydraulics, shocks & struts Ability to operate power tools safely and efficiently; welding experience is advantageous Strong understanding of schematics and electrical systems in heavy machinery Experience with tire service and wheel alignment techniques Ability to perform heavy lifting safely during repairs or installations Excellent customer service skills when interacting with clients or team members This role requires a dedicated professional with mechanical expertise across various types of heavy-duty equipment. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented with a focus on safety standards while delivering high-quality repair services. Will start off pay at $20.00 to $30.00 an hour depending on experience. Valid driver's license required Solid background Paid holidays include Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day after one year of employment.
