Overview Join our dynamic team as a Diesel Mechanic and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing a wide range of light to heavy-duty diesel engines. In this role, you will utilize your expertise to diagnose, troubleshoot, and service diesel engines and related systems across generators, heavy duty trucks, and transportation vehicles. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, air brakes, suspensions, and electrical systems using schematics and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manuals. Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, brake repairs, engine repairs, aftertreatment and equipment inspections to prevent breakdowns. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to ensure proper fit and function. Maintain detailed service records for all repairs performed; document findings and recommendations clearly for future reference. Assist with heavy lifting tasks and perform heavy equipment operation when required to facilitate repairs or inspections. Support safety protocols by adhering to industry standards for electrical diagnostics, HVAC systems, soldering, and equipment troubleshooting. Qualifications Proven experience working as a Diesel Mechanic with dealership experience preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge with expertise in diesel engine diagnostics, electrical diagnostics, hydraulics, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and HVAC systems. Proficiency in reading schematics and OEM manuals; ability to interpret technical diagrams accurately. Hands-on experience with heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, construction equipment servicing or similar industrial machinery. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools required for repair tasks. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely; physically capable of working in demanding environments. Excellent customer service skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving; able to communicate technical information clearly. Valid certifications in electrical systems or automotive diagnostics are advantageous; ongoing training in heavy duty truck operation is a plus.
