Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, brakes, suspension systems, and electrical systems using schematics and technical manuals. Conduct preventive maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers to maximize operational uptime. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools to complete repairs accurately and efficiently. Inspect and repair vehicle systems including HVAC systems, shocks & struts, air brakes, alignment, and tire service to ensure safety compliance. Maintain detailed service records of all repairs performed; keep records for dot Assist in heavy lifting tasks and perform routine equipment maintenance to uphold safety standards. Qualifications Proven dealership experience or extensive background in heavy equipment mechanics is highly preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and vehicle maintenance. Hands-on experience with fabrication, welding, schematics reading, and troubleshooting complex mechanical issues. Familiarity with heavy truck repair, industrial equipment repair, farm machinery maintenance, and automotive diagnostics. Ability to operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers safely and efficiently. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, soldering techniques, and powerlifting for heavy lifting tasks. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients or team members. Valid certifications related to diesel mechanics or heavy equipment operation are a plus; ongoing training is encouraged to stay current with industry standards.
