We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain our fleet of heavy duty diesel equipment. Pay$22.00-$27.00 per hour (DOE)Responsibilities Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy duty diesel equipment, including mixer trucks, front end loaders, aggregate trucks, trailers, and related equipment. Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled inspections on company vehicles and equipment. Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, braking systems, suspension, steering, and emissions components. Replace worn or damaged parts, adjust brakes, repair wiring, and perform electrical repairs. Disassemble and overhaul engines, transmissions, clutches, starters, alternators, pumps, and other mechanical assemblies. Perform DOT inspections and follow up on 30, 60, and 90 day DVIR inspections. Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues using diagnostic equipment and repair software. Complete accurate maintenance and repair documentation. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Follow all company safety policies and DOT regulations. Assist with welding and fabrication projects as needed. Perform emergency roadside repairs when necessary. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 2 years of diesel or heavy equipment mechanic experience preferred. Equivalent experience may be substituted for formal education. Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, braking systems, and preventative maintenance. Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical failures. Experience using diagnostic software and specialized repair equipment. Ability to read and interpret repair manuals, schematics, and technical instructions. Valid California driver's license required. Class A CDL is preferred but not required. Welding and fabrication experience is a plus. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to work overtime as needed. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Frequently lift, carry, push, pull, and work with tools and heavy equipment. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Comfortable working around dust, grease, oil, fumes, and other shop hazards.
