Freightliner & Volvo Diesel Technician/Mechanic We are looking for an experienced Diesel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of diesel engines and their components. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, performing preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting electrical systems. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and have excellent problem-solving skills. Qualifications Running diagnostic tests on diesel engines. Repairing or replacing vehicle transmissions, brakes, engines and other associated parts. Test driving repaired vehicles to gauge their performance. Maintaining records of parts inventory and serviced vehicles. Full understanding of fleet maintenance policies, DOT standards and industry practices. Maintain safe and reliable company equipment; perform safety inspections of equipment (including repaired equipment) and prepare safety documents required by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), company and any other Federal, State or Local regulations (DOT Annual Inspection). Must demonstrate proficiency in the repair and diagnosis of Engine Check, DEF Filter, Clear Fault Codes and Reset them, transmissions, clutches and drive shafts; electrical systems, HVAC systems, steering systems, and brakes Minimum 2 years Diesel Technician experience Must have experience with repairs on Freightliner, Volvo trucks and Trailers of all brands. Basic computer skills to input vehicle maintenance records and diagnosis equipment Ability to meet physical demands of the job in safe and alert manner (job requires frequent lifting/moving, climbing, stooping, kneeling, seeing, grasping, etc.) Minimum 18 years of age A valid driver's license Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high volume environment with multiple priorities Responsibilities Perform parts, components, systems and machine inspections to diagnose Volvo & Freightliner trucks and perform preventative maintenance Repair or replace parts as needed, and verify vehicle performance Identify and maintain vehicle records and warranty repairs by documenting services Dispose of failed parts, fluids and other waste in a manner that is considerate of the environment Follow all company policies and procedures and adhere to all federal, state, and local OSHA, safety, and EPA regulations Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor Company Description ATL(Aman Truck Lines, LLC.) has grown to be one of the largest asset based trucking companies in Northern California with over 800 pieces of equipment.
