Job Description
Overview We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical repair and maintenance, particularly with diesel engines and heavy equipment. This role is crucial for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our fleet, which includes tractor-trailers and farm machinery. The Diesel Mechanic will work in a hands-on environment, diagnosing issues and performing repairs to keep our operations running smoothly. Duties Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, including inspections and diagnostics. Troubleshoot mechanical issues using schematics and technical manuals. Conduct repairs on hydraulic systems, ensuring proper functionality of equipment. Provide tire service, including installation, rotation, and balancing. Repair and maintain various types of heavy equipment such as cranes and tractors. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance tasks. Maintain accurate records of all services performed on equipment. Ensure compliance with safety regulations while working in the shop or field. Qualifications Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role with a strong mechanical knowledge base. Proficiency in working with hydraulics and understanding of hydraulic systems. Experience in equipment repair, particularly with farm machinery and crane operations. Familiarity with schematics for troubleshooting mechanical issues effectively. Ability to perform tire service tasks efficiently. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. A valid driver's license is preferred; additional certifications related to diesel mechanics are a plus. Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
