Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic

Heavy Equipment Mechanic - Field Mechanic. Earthmoving company seeking mechanics for multiple positions on large and small construction equipment. Large equipment division consists of CAT scrapers (D, E, and G series), CAT 740 haul trucks, agricultural tractors with discs, Hitachi 470 and 870 excavators, and other support equipment. Small equipment division consists of John Deere loaders (K, L, and P series), Deere/Hitachi excavators, Bobcat and Komatsu skid-steers, Sakai rollers, and other miscellaneous equipment. Must have mechanical experience with diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain systems. Must have good understanding of hydraulic systems operation and diagnosis methods. Must be able to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues. Welding experience a plus but not required. Experience with Cat 631,633, 637 Scrapers and Haul Trucks preferred, but not necessary. We are very willing to train the right applicant on these specific machines, but you must posses the required mechanical knowledge to apply to these machines. This is a safety sensitive position that will require operating a mechanic truck on-site and may drive between job sites. This job is 100% outside. Some inclement weather must be tolerated, but you will not be expected to work in adverse conditions (ie: take the snow days off, no work if temperature is below 20•F). Since you will be working in various outside environments, you will be subjected to weather changes, noise, vibrations, job hazards, and atmospheric conditions. Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds without any physical restrictions. Good communications skills a must along with organization and accurate record keeping methods, good and safe work habits. Must be willing to wear safety protective gear as required to comply with OSHA standards. Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation. 5 years clean MVR required.
