$100,000 based on experience Transpro Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Lead Diesel Mechanic to join our growing team for our afternoon shift. We offer a dynamic work environment and the best culture in the trucking business. The successful candidate will perform maintenance on commercial trucks, trailers, and equipment to manufacturer's guidelines to maintain the safety and reliability of the equipment. Punctual and honest mechanics who attend work as scheduled are needed to fill this critical role in our organization. Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends and holidays. Be able to effectively work in a team environment. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to pass all pre-employment screens (including drug, background and criminal checks) Level I Tech (Laborer)
Essential Functions:
Oil changes Lubricate moving parts Shop clean up Clean trucks and trailers Assist Other Technicians Benefits Earn $41,600

Education/Experience:
1
  • 2 years of diesel repair experience on heavy trucks and trailers
Knowledge and Critical Skills/Expertise Language Skills:
Excellent communication skills required both written and verbal. Must be able to effectively communicate well under pressure.
Mathematical Skills:
General Mathematics. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Technical Skills:
Must be able to create documents, spreadsheets, and strong knowledge of specific programs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Possess a CDL in your state or residence. ASE Certifications HIGHLY preferred (not required but preferred)
Other Skills and Abilities:
Excellent service orientation and excellent communication and service skills a must. Physical Demands Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, reach, and crawl Ability to push/pull up to 100 lbs. Ability to lift /carry up to 100 lbs. Ability to grasp tools Ability to discern color Repetitive motion: wrenches Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboarding, machine operation, etc.) most of the work day; Required to be exposed to physical occupational risks (such as cuts, burns, exposure to toxic chemicals, etc.) often; Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements often; Environmental Conditions The noise level in the work environment is ranges from quiet to loud. Normal setting for this job is: repair/maintenance shop.
