Full-Time, Year-Round Position Summary Patriot Marine LLC is seeking a reliable and mechanically inclined Preventative Maintenance Technician to maintain our fleet of marine vessels, heavy equipment, and support machinery. The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure all equipment is properly serviced, inspected, lubricated, and ready for daily operations. The ideal candidate takes pride in keeping equipment operating safely and efficiently through scheduled preventative maintenance rather than waiting for breakdowns to occur. Primary Responsibilities Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on diesel-powered equipment and marine machinery. Complete daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance inspections. Change engine oil, hydraulic oil, gear oil, coolant, and filters. Grease all equipment according to manufacturer specifications. monitor equipment fluid levels. Inspect hydraulic systems, hoses, cylinders, and fittings. Replace worn hoses, filters, belts, batteries, and minor mechanical components. Maintain accurate maintenance records and service logs. Keep the maintenance shop, service truck, and work areas clean and organized. Coordinate with mechanics and equipment operators to identify maintenance needs. Respond to field service requests as needed. Follow all OSHA, USCG, and company safety procedures. Equipment You'll Maintain Diesel Generators Engine-Driven Welders Hydraulic Power Packs Caterpillar 345 Material Handlers Caterpillar 385 Material Handlers Mechanical Dredges Push Boats Tugboats Dump Scows and Barges Hydraulic Spud Winches Hydraulic and Diesel Pile Hammers Air Compressors Diesel Pumps Service Trucks and Trailers Preventative Maintenance Duties Oil and filter changes Fuel filter replacement Hydraulic system servicing Cooling system inspections Battery testing and replacement Belt and hose inspections Greasing bearings, pins, bushings, and wire ropes Checking engine fluids and hydraulic reservoirs Inspecting winches, cables, and lifting equipment Maintaining engine hour and service interval records Cleaning and servicing equipment after projects Reporting equipment deficiencies before failures occur Qualifications Experience performing preventative maintenance on diesel engines, heavy equipment, marine equipment, or construction machinery. Basic knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and mechanical components. Ability to safely use hand and power tools. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid driver's license required. CDL is a plus but not required. Welding or fabrication experience is beneficial but not required. Physical Requirements. Work outdoors in all weather conditions. Climb ladders and board vessels safely. Stand, kneel and bend Occasionally work extended hours or weekends to support project schedules.
