Summary/Objective:

We are seeking an experienced Diesel Repair Mechanic to join our team immediately. The mechanic will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of Class 8 Trucks (primarily Mack), end dump trailers, and heavy equipment, working under limited supervision. This position requires strong diagnostic skills, mechanical expertise, and the ability to perform a variety of repairs, including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Receive and complete work orders assigned by the Shop Manager, including diagnosing and repairing electrical, hydraulic, undercarriage, and mechanical issues. Perform repairs on Class 8 trucks, end dump trailers, and heavy equipment such as front-end loaders. Utilize diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot and resolve fault codes and drivability issues. Conduct routine maintenance, including checks and adjustments to hoses, belts, fluids, and filters. Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and scheduled repairs on trucks, trailers, and equipment. Operate heavy equipment as necessary to diagnose and complete repairs. Write accurate and detailed repair descriptions on work orders, including equipment model and hour meter readings. Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to all safety regulations. Complete special projects and other tasks as assigned by the Operations or Fleet Manager.

Requirements:

Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation. Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment. Capability to prioritize tasks and work in various weather conditions. Must be able to work in a drug-free workplace and pass a background screening.

Physical Demands:

Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and work with hands and feet. Ability to work on uneven surfaces and lift/move objects up to 50 lbs without assistance.
