Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and longevity of our fleet and machinery. The ideal candidate will bring a strong mechanical background, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a passion for maintaining heavy equipment to the highest standards. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, , and electrical systems using schematics and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manuals. Conduct routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, tire service, brake repairs, suspension adjustments, and alignment checks to keep equipment operating smoothly. Repair and overhaul construction machinery such as excavators, Skid Steers, and Loaders ,to ensure safety and reliability. Troubleshoot complex equipment issues through electrical diagnostics, mechanical inspections, and hydraulic system analysis to identify root causes quickly. The Fleet will consist of Roll Off, and Dump trucks Maintain detailed service records and logs of all repairs performed; interpret schematics for accurate assembly and disassembly of machinery. Assist with heavy lifting tasks using appropriate equipment while adhering to safety protocols; perform welding or soldering as required for repairs or fabrication projects. Support the operation of heavy equipment when necessary; ensure all machinery is serviced according to manufacturer specifications for optimal performance. Provide exceptional customer service by communicating repair statuses clearly and offering technical guidance when needed. Experience Proven experience working as a Diesel Mechanic within a dealership or industrial environment is highly preferred. Strong background in construction equipment servicing such as excavators, cranes, bulldozers, forklifts, and farm machinery. Extensive knowledge of diesel engine diagnostics, transmission repairs, hydraulics systems, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning), electrical systems, and schematics interpretation. Skilled in using power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic software for troubleshooting complex issues efficiently. Experience with heavy equipment operation is advantageous but not mandatory; familiarity with OEM parts and service manuals essential. Demonstrated ability to perform mechanical repairs involving suspension systems, air brakes, tire service, alignment procedures, and powertrain components. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to maintenance tasks; ability to work independently or as part of a team under tight deadlines. Valid certifications related to diesel engine repair or heavy equipment maintenance are a plus; ongoing training in electrical diagnostics or fabrication techniques is beneficial.
