Full-Time Overview At Kales Heavy Equipment, with our trusted partner True North Fleet Services, we are looking for an experienced Diesel Technician to support one of our key customer-site operations in Pensacola, Florida. This is an opportunity for an experienced technician who takes pride in being productive, dependable, safety-minded, and trusted to work independently. We need someone who communicates well, manages their time effectively, pays attention to the details, and understands that they represent Kales and True North every day. Our customers depend on us to keep their equipment operating, and we depend on our technicians to deliver consistent results without requiring constant supervision. Three Essential Functions Leadership Lead through your actions, professionalism, communication, safety practices, and willingness to help others. Take ownership of the customer relationship and represent Kales professionally at all times. Diagnose & Repair Troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain, and repair diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. Identify the root cause of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and equipment-related issues and complete repairs efficiently and correctly. Detailed Execution Complete inspections, repairs, documentation, and follow-up with a high level of accuracy. Communicate equipment concerns clearly and ensure work is completed safely and thoroughly. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and repair diesel engines, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, steering, hydraulics, and related components. Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and corrective repairs. Support equipment uptime by identifying problems before they become larger operational issues. Work independently at a dedicated customer location while maintaining strong communication with the customer and Kales leadership. Prioritize daily workload and manage time effectively in a fast-paced field environment. Maintain accurate repair orders, inspection findings, parts usage, and service documentation. Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment. Communicate repair status, equipment concerns, and recommendations clearly and professionally. Demonstrate flexibility as customer priorities and equipment needs change. Take ownership of assigned work from initial diagnosis through final repair and quality check. Experience with any of the following is especially valuable: Concrete equipment Refuse vehicles Emergency roadside service Reefer trailers Industrial pumps and compressors Asphalt and paving equipment Heavy-duty trucks and trailers Diesel diagnostics Tire service Crane equipment Construction and heavy equipment Qualifications Previous professional diesel, heavy-equipment, fleet, or truck-and-trailer repair experience. Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting capabilities. Ability to work independently with limited day-to-day supervision. Customer-site, mobile-service, construction-equipment, or field-service experience preferred. Concrete equipment experience is highly preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. Ability to prioritize work and remain productive throughout the workday. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Ability to safely perform the physical requirements associated with heavy-duty equipment repair.
