Job Description

A nationwide environmental services operation is hiring an Experienced Diesel Fleet Technician in St. Augustine, FL, to maintain and repair heavy-duty trucks. Ideal candidates have fleet diagnostics and preventative maintenance experience. to join a stable team supporting essential community services. Duties & Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy-duty fleet trucks to factory and industry standards, including mechanical, electrical, and brake systems. Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, fluid services, tire work, rotations, and general fleet upkeep to keep vehicles road-ready. Inspect vehicles and complete required safety checks to support DOT compliance, including brake inspections and maintenance. Work with the shop team to identify root causes, plan repairs, and verify safe vehicle performance after service. Accurately document repairs, inspections, parts usage, and daily activity in maintenance records and reports. Monitor parts, tools, and supply inventory and communicate shop needs. Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow company, DOT, and OSHA safety standards.
Requirements Required:
High school diploma or equivalent 2+ years of fleet maintenance experience on heavy-duty trucks Strong diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance skills Ability to read and understand repair manuals and technical reference materials Experience using diagnostic tools and basic computer applications Strong attention to detail with a dependable, professional work approach Commitment to safe work practices and regulatory compliance
Preferred:
Welding and body fabrication experience. #FJ1
Compensation:
$25.00 - $36.00/hour starting pay based on experience and qualifications $200 quarterly tool allowance
