We are looking for a dependable, safety-focused mechanic who can diagnose, repair, and maintain a diverse fleet of heavy construction equipment, trucks, trailers and support vehicles. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, can troubleshoot problems efficiently, and understands the importance of keeping equipment safe, reliable, and ready for the field. Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain diesel-powered equipment Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled services Repair and maintain trucks, trailers, support vehicles, and general equipment Fabricate and repair truck and trailers as needed Troubleshoot diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, air systems, cooling systems, and related components Perform inspections and identify potential mechanical or safety issues before they lead to equipment failure Complete engine, brake, suspension, drivetrain, and general mechanical repairs Read and interpret service manuals, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic information Use diagnostic software, scan tools, and standard shop equipment Respond to field service needs and equipment breakdowns as required Maintain accurate service and repair records Keep tools, work areas, and company equipment organized and in good condition Communicate clearly with supervisors, operators, vendors, and other team members regarding equipment condition and repair status Follow all company safety policies and procedures Qualifications Previous experience as a Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Field Service Technician, or similar role Strong knowledge of diesel engines and heavy equipment repair Experience troubleshooting electrical and hydraulic systems Ability to diagnose mechanical issues accurately and complete repairs efficiently Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned repairs Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Must be dependable, punctual, and able to communicate effectively Must be able to safely lift, carry, bend, kneel, climb, and work around heavy equipment Must be willing to work in both shop and field environments as needed Preferred Experience Truck and trailer repair experience Heavy civil construction equipment experience Experience with mobile cranes, crawler cranes, excavators, loaders, forklifts, telehandlers, trucks, and trailers Hydraulic troubleshooting and repair experience Electrical diagnostic experience Welding and fabrication experience CDL preferred but not required Manufacturer-specific diagnostic software experience is a plus Knowledge of truck and trailer ABS repair A/C system diagnose and repair What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is more than a parts changer.
