Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty equipment, including construction machinery, drilling equipment, and pickup trucks. Your expertise will ensure that all vehicles and equipment operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and passionate about mechanical systems and heavy equipment maintenance. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, suspension systems, and electrical systems using schematics and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications. Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, trailers, and construction machinery to ensure optimal performance. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques to complete repairs and fabrication tasks efficiently. Troubleshoot equipment issues related to mechanical failure, electrical diagnostics, HVAC systems, tire service, brake repair, alignment adjustments, and suspension problems. Maintain detailed service records including shift reports, incident logs, inspection checklists, and maintenance histories for all serviced equipment. Assist in the assembly and disassembly of machinery components during repairs or upgrades while adhering to safety protocols. Support heavy lifting operations safely using appropriate techniques and equipment to prevent injury or damage. Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair findings clearly and offering recommendations for ongoing maintenance needs. Experience Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic with a strong background in heavy equipment servicing and automotive repair. Dealership experience or similar automotive service background is highly desirable. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and metalworking. Familiarity with construction machinery maintenance including excavators, cranes, bulldozers, and loaders. Knowledge of electrical diagnostics for complex systems involving electrical wiring schematics and troubleshooting. Skilled in diagnosing issues related to transmissions, diesel engines Ability to read technical schematics accurately and interpret OEM manuals for precise repairs. Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts or excavators is a plus. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely. Excellent problem-solving skills with an emphasis on equipment troubleshooting in fast-paced environments.
