We are seeking an experienced heavy diesel vehicle, gas vehicle, and equipment mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing both minor and major maintenance and repairs on our vehicles and equipment. We have a fleet of equipment that includes everything from F-550 flatbed trucks to small-engine UTVs. You will be required to maintain and repair diesel & gasoline trucks, air brake trailers, electric brake trailers, small engine equipment, as well as both light & heavy-duty equipment to ensure they are running efficiently and safely. Applicant must have experience working with hydraulics as some of our equipment is hydraulic function based, such as trailers, flatbed trucks, and forklifts. With proper training, interested applicants may also need to go into incident zones to perform work alongside ground support during forest fires and other natural disasters. You will work independently or as part of a team and be responsible for diagnosing and fixing a variety of mechanical issues. This position requires a clean driving record, working safely and efficiently with the ability to move, lift heavy objects, load, strap, and unload heavy objects and to stand for long periods. What are the details? Perform routine maintenance on diesel and gasoline engines, trucks, and other heavy-duty equipment, including oil changes, filter replacements, tire rotations, and inspections Diagnose and repair mechanical issues, such as engine failures, transmission problems, and brake system malfunctions Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic and fuel systems, including wiring and circuitry, carburetors and fuel injectors Maintain equipment, keep accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed on all vehicles and equipment including DOT-required records Ensure a clean and safe work environment Communicate with team members to prioritize maintenance and repairs based on operational needs while providing recommendations for maintenance and repairs Utilize diagnostic software and tools to identify and troubleshoot issues This position requires strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under tight deadlines What do we need from you?
Mechanical Abilities:
Diesel, Gasoline, Trucks, Trailers, Hydraulics, Small Engines At least 2 years of experience in diesel and gasoline mechanics Experience working with heavy-duty equipment, including trucks, air breaks, generators and forklifts Knowledge of diesel engine technology and maintenance procedures in addition to proficiency in the use of diagnostic software and tools, and the ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics Strong communication skills and problem-solving skills as well as attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure Experience in using hand and power tools for fabrication Welding experience is a plus
WORK CONDITIONS
This job will require outdoor work in all weather conditions: Heat, Cold, Rain, Wind, Blowing Sand, etc. General safety (including work with a forklift, vehicles, and other heavy equipment) is a top priority. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee will often need to climb or balance and talk or listen. Proficiency in the ability to read, write and speak English is required. Valid Driver's License/ Satisfactory Driving History•This position requires driving a company-provided vehicle. You will be required to comply with our policies and procedures which are dictated by the
FMSCA & DOT.
