Job Description
Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Diesel Technician to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the repair, diagnosis, and maintenance of a wide range of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards. Your expertise will drive efficiency across our fleet and machinery, supporting our commitment to reliable operations. Responsibilities Lead and mentor a team of diesel technicians, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Diagnose complex issues across various heavy equipment systems including engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, emissions and air brakes . Perform repairs and maintenance on diesel engines, farm machinery, industrial equipment, excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other heavy-duty vehicles. Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems accurately. Conduct welding, fabrication, alignment, tire service, suspension repairs, and power tool operation to restore equipment functionality. Oversee equipment repair projects from start to finish ensuring timely completion while maintaining high safety standards. Maintain detailed service records and communicate effectively with team members and customers regarding repair status and recommendations. Skills Extensive dealership experience with heavy truck repair and diesel mechanics preferred. Proficiency in diesel diagnostics, electrical system repair, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and vehicle systems troubleshooting. Strong mechanical knowledge of transmissions, shocks & struts, suspension components, brakes (including air brake systems), and vehicle maintenance procedures. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, schematics reading, soldering techniques, and heavy lifting safely. Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and farm machinery. Ability to perform alignment checks and repairs with precision; familiarity with Caterpillar or similar industrial equipment is a plus. Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients and team members alike. Class B or higher Commercial Driver's License is a plus but not require
