  • Full-time Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team.
In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of our fleet and machinery. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse industrial equipment, farm machinery, and heavy vehicles in a fast-paced environment that values precision, efficiency, and customer service. Whether working on excavators, cranes, or tractor-trailers, your mechanical knowledge will keep operations running smoothly and safely. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics using schematics, OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manuals, and automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues with diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems. Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery to ensure they meet safety standards and operational efficiency. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, power tools, and hand tools to support equipment repair or customization projects. Service and repair vehicle systems including air brakes, alignments, HVAC systems in trucks or machinery, tire service, and wheel balancing. Assemble new equipment or parts following technical schematics and OEM specifications to ensure proper fitment and functionality. Operate heavy equipment safely during repairs or testing procedures to verify repairs are successful and equipment functions correctly under load conditions. Maintain detailed records of all repairs performed, parts used, diagnostics conducted, and inspections completed for compliance and future reference. Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair findings clearly to clients or team members and offering recommendations for ongoing maintenance. Skills Proven dealership experience with heavy-duty diesel engines and industrial equipment is highly desirable. Strong mechanical knowledge of transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, HVAC systems, and electrical components. Skilled in using schematics, OEM manuals, automotive diagnostics tools, soldering equipment, welding apparatuses, power tools, hand tools, and lifting devices for heavy lifting tasks. Experience working with diverse machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts (including power lift trucks), tractor-trailers, farm machinery, and other industrial equipment. Ability to perform fabrication tasks such as welding or assembling parts based on technical drawings or schematics. Familiarity with service technician procedures related to tire service, brake repair, alignment adjustments, hydraulic system troubleshooting and repairs. Knowledge of vehicle maintenance best practices along with strong electrical troubleshooting skills related to automotive diagnostics. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Physical strength for heavy lifting tasks along with the stamina required for long periods of standing or working in confined spaces.
