Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, suspension systems, and electrical systems using schematics and OEM manuals. Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and construction machinery to ensure optimal performance. Fabricate parts and components as needed using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific repair requirements. Troubleshoot equipment issues through automotive diagnostics and electrical diagnostics to identify root causes quickly and accurately. Service and repair farm machinery, industrial equipment, and heavy construction machinery while adhering to safety standards. Conduct tire service, brake repairs, alignment adjustments, HVAC repairs, and suspension work to maintain vehicle safety and efficiency. Maintain detailed records of all repairs performed, including schematics used and parts replaced; ensure all work complies with OEM specifications. Qualifications Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Mechanic with dealership experience preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, HVAC systems, and suspension components. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering tools, and diagnostic software for electrical and automotive diagnostics. Ability to read schematics accurately for troubleshooting complex equipment issues. Experience working on excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers or similar heavy machinery is highly desirable. Knowledge of fabrication techniques including welding and metalworking for custom repairs or modifications. Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on safety compliance; able to lift heavy equipment parts safely during maintenance tasks.
