Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and longevity of machinery used across various industries, including transportation, construction, and agriculture. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, suspension systems, and electrical components using schematics and automotive diagnostics tools. Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and power tools. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, hand tools, and fabrication techniques to ensure proper fit and function. Replace or repair shocks & struts, tires, brakes, alignments, HVAC systems, and other critical vehicle components to maintain safety standards. Assemble new equipment or parts following manufacturer specifications and troubleshoot issues related to assembly or operation. Maintain detailed service records documenting all repairs performed; adhere to safety protocols during all maintenance activities. Assist with heavy lifting tasks and perform welding or other specialized repairs to restore equipment functionality efficiently. Experience Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in diesel engine repair and automotive diagnostics. Dealership experience highly preferred for familiarity with manufacturer-specific systems such as Caterpillar or other heavy equipment brands. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; familiarity with schematics is essential. Knowledge of heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and farm machinery. Skilled in the use of power tools, hand tools, and maintenance equipment for vehicle repair and assembly tasks. Strong understanding of hydraulics, air brake systems, suspension alignment, HVAC systems, and tire service procedures. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining high attention to detail during repairs. Excellent mechanical knowledge combined with customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients or team members.
