Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic Service Technician to join our family owned business. This full-time position involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel equipment, including trucks, construction machinery, and industrial vehicles. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical expertise, experience with heavy equipment, and the ability to work efficiently with others. Prior familiarity with various types of machinery are highly valued. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics using schematics and automotive diagnostics tools to identify issues with diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, HVAC systems, and other vehicle components. Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, skid loaders, heavy tracked machinery as well as trucks and power tools. Repair and replace components including wheel alignments, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and welding repairs. Fabricate parts or modifications as needed using hand tools and welding equipment to meet specific operational requirements. Maintain detailed service records and ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications. Perform preventive maintenance to extend the lifespan of vehicles and machinery. Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite. Qualifications Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment operation and automotive repair. Strong knowledge of diesel engine repair, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, electrical diagnostics, and brake systems. Skilled in using schematics, power tools, soldering equipment, and hand tools for precise repairs. Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately. Experience with fabrication techniques including welding and assembly of mechanical parts. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in demanding environments for extended periods. Excellent problem solving skills in a timely manner. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record with a CDL preferred. Relevant certifications or training in diesel mechanics or related fields are highly desirable.
