May require some direction or guidance from the shop manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment and technology. Performs diagnosis and repair, at the shop, and in the field as required. Operates and maintains vehicles, tools, and equipment required to perform job responsibilities. Maintains current knowledge of CAT equipment and competitive products. Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment. Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion. Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments. Accountable for billable time and assigned work orders. Responsible for tracking all materials used in performing assigned duties. Complete all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments in a timely manner. Other appropriate responsibilities as assigned by shop manager.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE

High School Diploma or equivalent experience required, Associate degree preferred. 3+ years of experience performing service and repairs on heavy equipment, triaxles and pickups preferred. Ability to perform repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures with limited re-work. Experience with the mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in off-road, construction, or heavy equipment. Ability to operate vehicles, tools, and equipment for diagnostic purposes. Experience with basic computer-based diagnostic repair tools preferred. Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment. Experience communicating effectively verbally and in writing. Valid driver's license required; CDL (Commercial Driver's License) preferred.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to lift 75 pounds repeatedly. Adequate toolset to perform job responsibilities required. Driving record that meets Employer's insurance company requirements.
