Job Description
Benefits Offered 401K, Dental, Life, Medical, Vision, PTO Employment Type Full-Time We are looking for a Diesel Mechanic to join our team! You will be responsible for repairing various vehicles and transmission systems. Shift Monday-Friday Meets daily with Service Manager and other operations personnel to discuss filling upcoming orders and demands for equipment Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer. Uses repair orders to record all work performed and submits a list of equipment numbers completed each day Receive driver and owner/operator reports and conduct initial inspection to diagnose problem using test drives and test instruments, such as pressure gauges, motor analyzers, and other equipment as needed Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare all safety documentation required Inspect and perform work on the under parts of vehicles and trailers. Oversee shipping/receiving responsibilities, including inspecting, storing, and retrieving inventory Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and repairs, air and hydraulic brake repairs, warranty procedures, steering and suspension, electrical diagnostics, etc. all on medium and heavy-duty trucks Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on vehicles Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures. Maintain work area in a clean and organized manner Repair trucks, trucks, trailers, and other motor vehicles Specialize in vehicle transmission systems Perform routine vehicle maintenance Use diagnostic tools to test vehicle components Perform quality inspections prior to returning the vehicle to the customer Perform other duties as required
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a mechanic Knowledge of shop equipment Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Deadline and detail-oriented Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment 1-2 years' experience performing vehicle and/or trailer maintenance highly desired. Valid driver's license with clear driving record Basic computer skills Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job 1+ years diesel mechanic experience required Experience diagnosing and repairingDiesel Must Have Tools/Toolbox:
