Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, brakes, suspensions, and electrical systems across various heavy equipment and vehicles. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, alignment, and air brake inspections to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan. Fabricate parts or modifications using welding, hand tools, power tools, and schematics to meet specific operational needs. Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues on machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, industrial equipment, tractor-trailers, and automotive systems. Use detailed schematics and technical manuals to accurately diagnose problems and execute repairs efficiently. Perform heavy lifting tasks safely when handling large components or assemblies during repair or replacement procedures. Ensure all work complies with safety standards and industry regulations while maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Requirements Proven dealership experience or extensive background in heavy equipment mechanics is highly preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, and vehicle electrical systems. Experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; familiarity with schematics essential for troubleshooting. Proficiency in automotive diagnostics tools and the use of hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment for repairs. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working on large machinery or vehicle components. Knowledge of heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery is a plus. Excellent customer service skills combined with service technician experience to communicate effectively with clients or team members. Valid certifications related to diesel mechanics or heavy truck repair; relevant licenses such as air brake certification are advantageous.
