About the Job Berube's Equipment Rental & Repair is a locally owned equipment rental and repair company. We're looking for a skilled Diesel Mechanic to perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on customers equipment and trucks as well as our own. This position is based in our fully equipped shop with a steady workload and a strong, supportive crew. You'll work on a variety of equipment daily — from haul trucks and excavators to lowboy tractors and trailers — ensuring our fleet and customers stay job‑ready. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems Perform preventive maintenance and DOT inspections Service heavy equipment, semi‑tractors, and trailers Maintain detailed repair logs and order needed parts Ensure all repairs meet safety and performance standards Keep the shop area organized, clean, and efficient Requirements 5+ years of experience as a diesel or heavy equipment mechanic Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical diagnostic skills Ability to work independently and efficiently in a busy shop Must have own hand tools (company provides specialty tools and lifts) CDL license or equipment operation experience a plus Safety‑focused, reliable, and professional work ethic We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Full‑time, year‑round employment Clean, modern, and fully equipped shop Paid time off and potential benefits Supportive, team‑oriented environment Local work — home every night
