Job Description

Rapid Roadside & Repair is hiring a part-time Weekend Mobile Mechanic to perform repairs on semi trucks, trailers, and automobiles. This is a weekend-only position (Saturday and Sunday) and a great opportunity for someone with strong mechanical skills who wants extra income or hands-on experience with semis. We supply all the tools and are willing to train the right candidate. You don't need to be a certified diesel mechanic or have years of heavy-duty experience. If you have a high level of mechanical ability, good problem-solving skills, and are eager to learn, we will teach you what you need to know. What you'll be doing: Replace brake chambers and perform brake jobs on semi trucks and trailers Diagnose issues using computer scan tools on semis and automobiles/cars Replace wheel seals and perform wheel-end/hub work Repair and replace air lines and work on air brake systems Handle general mechanical repairs and maintenance on trucks, trailers, and cars Respond to mobile roadside repairs and on-site service calls as needed Perform safety inspections and preventive maintenance What we're looking for: Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on ability (this is the most important requirement) Experience with brakes, brake chambers, wheel seals, or air systems is helpful but not required Comfortable using diagnostic scan tools (we provide training on specific systems) Ability to work safely and independently Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Physically able to handle the work (lifting, kneeling, working in various weather conditions) Reliable transportation to get to job sites We provide: All tools and equipment needed for the job Paid on-the-job training $20 - $25 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule:
Part-time weekend position — Saturday and Sunday only Day shifts (specific hours discussed during interview) This role is ideal for someone who works weekdays elsewhere and wants weekend hours, a mechanically inclined person looking to gain semi truck experience, or anyone who wants part-time work with tools and training provided.
