Job Description

Suburban Waste Services in Savage, MN is seeking a Full Time Diesel Technician. The hours for this position are from 2 pm-11 pm, Monday-Thursday and 3 pm - 7pm on Fridays. Suburban Waste Services was named Top 200 Workplaces 2025 by The Minnesota Star Tribune!
Salary :
$24.00 to $30.00 /hour

Eligible for up to a $400 monthly performance bonus Eligible for up to a $600 yearly safety bonus $2,000 yearly tool allowance $350 yearly boot allowance Medical and dental health insurance (employee premium paid 100% by employer) Short-term and long-term disability and life insurance (employee premium paid 100% by employer) Paid vacation and sick days Diesel Technician duties are, but not limited too: Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts. Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion; completing winterization procedures. Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics; completes machine shop operations; making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units. Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives: adjusting controls and systems. Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards. Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs. Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
