Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, wheel-end service, electrical repairs, and providing emergency roadside assistance. Mechanics work rotating shifts in fast-paced travel stop environments. This position is for evenings and weekends only.
Key Job Responsibilities Diagnostics & Repair:
Troubleshoot and fix issues related to wheel-end assemblies, suspensions, A/C, electrical systems, and engine components.
Preventative Maintenance:
Perform oil changes, lube services, and comprehensive safety inspections on commercial vehicles.
Roadside Assistance:
Drive service vehicles to assist stranded drivers with on-the-spot repairs.
Customer Service:
Communicate clearly with professional drivers to get them back on the road safely and quickly. Compensation & Perks Hourly +
Commission:
Pay typically ranges from $22 to over $33 per hour depending on experience and location, often with commission opportunities.
Tool Programs:
Apprentices and new hires who complete company training programs can receive a brand-new tool set (valued at $3,500) that is theirs to keep after one year of employment.
Training Academies:
Opportunities to attend paid accelerated training programs (like the Love's Truck Care Academy ) to build skills in heavy-duty truck systems.
Qualifications & Requirements Physical Capability:
Ability to lift 75+ pounds and maneuver comfortably in tight or confined spaces.
Schedule Flexibility:
Willingness to work alternating day and night shifts, including weekends.
Certifications:
