About the role We are seeking a Diesel Mechanic who will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel trucks, trailers, and related equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team to minimize downtime and support delivery center operations. Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel trucks, trailers, and flatbed equipment. Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, electrical, brake, steering, fuel, and exhaust systems. Conduct new truck inspections and churn inspections. Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and correct electronic and mechanical issues. Complete preventative maintenance services (PMs) including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, and system adjustments. Repair or replace defective parts such as sensors, batteries, alternators, starters, brakes, and lighting systems. Document all work performed accurately in the company's fleet management system (Fleetio or equivalent). Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards. Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment, keeping tools and equipment in proper condition. Assist with roadside or yard repairs as needed to minimize equipment downtime. Support training of drivers on basic pre-trip inspections and safe operation procedures when required.
Requisitos:
A minimum of 2-5 years of verifiable experience working as a Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Truck Technician, or similar role. Experience with both trucks and trailers (including flatbed equipment) is a significant advantage.
Diagnostic Proficiency:
Proven ability to diagnose and repair complex issues across major vehicle systems, including: Engine and Transmission (Diesel), Electrical and Electronic Systems, Brake (Air and Hydraulic) and Steering Systems, Fuel and Exhaust Systems High proficiency in operating and interpreting readings from advanced diagnostic tools (e.g., laptop software, scan tools) to troubleshoot fault codes and mechanical failures. Experience performing and leading Preventative Maintenance Services (PMs), including complex system adjustments and replacements. ASE Certifications for Medium-Heavy Truck are highly preferred (e.g., Diesel Engines, Brakes, Electrical/Electronic Systems).
