Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic Service Technician to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel equipment, including trucks, construction machinery, and industrial vehicles. Your expertise will ensure our fleet operates efficiently and safely, supporting our commitment to reliable service delivery. The ideal candidate will bring a strong mechanical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for heavy equipment maintenance. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, brakes, suspensions, and electrical systems across various heavy equipment and vehicles. Conduct routine preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity of machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, and tractor-trailers. Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues accurately. Fabricate parts or modify equipment as needed using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet operational requirements. Repair and replace components including shocks & struts, air brakes, alignments, HVAC systems, and powertrain elements to maintain safety standards. Maintain detailed service records of all repairs performed and parts used for accountability and future reference. Support heavy lifting operations during equipment repairs or installations while adhering to safety protocols. Skills Proven dealership or heavy equipment mechanic experience with a strong understanding of automotive diagnostics and vehicle systems. Proficiency in reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals for troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; familiarity with power tools is essential. Knowledge of heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery. Strong mechanical knowledge of transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, and HVAC systems. Ability to perform automotive electrical system repair along with vehicle maintenance tasks for trucks and trailers. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with customer service experience to communicate effectively with clients or team members about repairs needed or completed.
