Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Class A Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel vehicles and equipment. Your expertise will ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of fleet vehicles, including trucks, trailers, and industrial machinery. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspensions, brakes, and electrical systems using schematics and technical manuals. Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, alignment, and air brake inspections to maximize vehicle uptime. Fabricate and modify parts or components using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment to meet specific repair needs. Operate heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers safely and efficiently during repair or testing procedures. Troubleshoot automotive electrical systems and perform complex repairs on HVAC systems, shocks & struts, steering components, and other mechanical systems. Utilize automotive diagnostics tools to identify issues accurately and execute repairs promptly while adhering to safety standards. Maintain detailed records of all repairs performed, parts used, and service reports for compliance and quality assurance. Qualifications Proven experience as a diesel mechanic with dealership or heavy equipment repair background preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge with expertise in automotive electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, and engine repair. Hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery. Ability to read schematics accurately and interpret technical manuals for complex repairs. Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; familiar with power tools and hand tools for assembly or repair work. Knowledge of safety protocols related to heavy truck repair including air brake systems and vehicle alignment procedures. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
