In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty equipment, including trucks, industrial machinery. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, air brakes, suspension components, and electrical systems across various heavy equipment and vehicles. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, wheel alignments, and brake repairs to ensure optimal performance. Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues accurately. Fabricate parts or modify existing components using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific repair needs. Operate heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers safely and efficiently during maintenance or repair procedures. Maintain detailed service records for all repairs performed and communicate effectively with team members and customers regarding vehicle status or repair needs. Assist with equipment assembly, welding projects, and preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and extend machinery lifespan. Qualifications Proven dealership or heavy equipment mechanic experience with a strong background in diesel engine repair and automotive diagnostics. Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems including transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, and vehicle electrical systems. Hands-on experience with heavy truck repair, farm machinery maintenance, industrial equipment servicing, and service technician roles. Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals; ability to interpret complex diagrams accurately. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering tools, and other fabrication apparatus. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working on large machinery or vehicles. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members. Valid certifications related to diesel mechanics or heavy equipment operation are preferred; ongoing training in automotive electrical systems or HVAC is a plus.
