Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of diesel-powered equipment and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of heavy machinery, farm equipment, industrial tools, and commercial vehicles. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and diverse machinery, contributing directly to the efficiency and success of our operations. Hourly Rate is based on experience. Valid drivers license is a must. CDL License a plus. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, suspension components, and electrical systems using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) schematics and advanced automotive diagnostics tools. Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, mixers, forklifts, tractors, tri-axles, and other machinery to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. Fabricate custom parts or modifications using power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and hand tools to meet specific operational needs. Inspect and service vehicle components including tires, brakes, alignments, power steering systems, and electrical wiring. Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues accurately. Perform preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan. Operate heavy machinery safely during repairs or testing procedures while adhering to safety protocols. Qualifications Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in diesel engine repair and heavy equipment maintenance. Dealership experience or similar service technician background is highly preferred. Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems. Hands-on experience with fabrication, welding, soldering, and assembly of mechanical parts. Knowledge of Oshkosh, Peterbuilt or other OEM brands is advantageous. Familiarity with hydraulic systems, air brake systems, suspensions, transmissions, and tire service. Ability to operate heavy equipment such as excavators or forklifts safely during repair processes. Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by excellent customer service skills when interacting with clients or team members. Capable of heavy lifting safely while handling large parts or equipment components.
