Lead Diesel Mechanic / Shop Manager Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Diesel Mechanic / Shop Manager to oversee our diesel vehicle and equipment maintenance operations. This role combines hands-on mechanical expertise with leadership responsibilities, ensuring the efficient repair and maintenance of heavy trucks, diesel engines, and heavy equipment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing daily shop activities, supervising a team of mechanics, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality in all repair processes. Responsibilities Perform and oversee diesel engine repairs, heavy truck repairs, and vehicle maintenance to ensure optimal performance and safety. Conduct diagnostics and troubleshooting on diesel engines and heavy equipment to identify issues accurately. Lead the maintenance of various equipment, including heavy machinery used in operational activities. Supervise a team of diesel mechanics, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient workflow. Manage shop operations, including scheduling repairs, maintaining inventory of parts and tools, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Ensure all repair work meets industry standards and company quality expectations. Coordinate with other departments to prioritize maintenance tasks and minimize downtime. Maintain detailed records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities for reporting purposes. Promote a safe work environment by enforcing safety protocols and conducting regular safety audits. Requirements Proven experience as a diesel mechanic with extensive knowledge of diesel engines, heavy truck repair, and vehicle maintenance. Strong leadership skills with previous experience managing a team or shop environment. Expertise in diagnosing complex mechanical issues related to diesel engines and heavy equipment. Ability to perform repairs on heavy machinery and equipment efficiently and accurately. Excellent organizational skills to manage shop operations effectively. Knowledge of safety regulations related to vehicle repair shops and heavy machinery operation. Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and other departments. Valid certifications or licenses relevant to diesel mechanics or heavy equipment repair are preferred but not mandatory. Pay:
